Must be reported through a written or electronic notification, within 7 days of clinical or laboratory diagnosis but preferably as soon as possible following diagnosis.

1. Agricultural or stock remedy poisoning

  • Excludes para-suicides
2. Bilharzia (schistosomiasis)
3. Brucellosis
4. Congenital rubella syndrome
5. Congenital syphilis
6. Diphtheria
7. Enteric fever (typhoid or paratyphoid fever)
8. Haemophilus influenzae type B
9. Hepatitis A
10. Hepatitis B
11. Hepatitis C
12. Hepatitis E
13. Lead poisoning
14. Legionellosis
15. Leprosy
16. Maternal death (pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium)

  • Only maternal deaths linked to a communicable disease
17. Mercury poisoning
18. Pertussis
19. Soil transmitted helminths infections

  • roundworm (Ascaris lumbricoides),
  • whipworm (Trichuris trichiura)
  • hookworms (Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale)
20. Tetanus
21. Tuberculosis: pulmonary
22. Tuberculosis: extra-pulmonary
23. Tuberculosis: multidrug-resistant (MDR-TB)
24. Tuberculosis: extensively drug-resistant (XDR-TB)
